About

My name is Marie, promoter of the association my small African Koalas.

My story begins in the hairdressing profession in which I have been since I was 14, and it was when I was 20, in 2015, that I decided to embark on a crazy adventure: that of going on a humanitarian trip. with an association.

At that time, I had never gone on a trip abroad and alone, but my dream and my desire to help others were already much stronger than my fear of the unknown. With this trip I wanted to prove to myself what I was capable of and wanted to realize how lucky I was with a desire for recognition as well.

So I found myself in Madagascar, a humanitarian trip on a 15-day medical mission to the north of the island that will have forever changed my vision of life.
The memories I keep will remain eternally engraved, magical encounters, a generous country and an immense culture that I had never imagined.
The return to my "normal" life was very difficult; I was ashamed of the consumption I had.
It took me 1 year to recover from this culture shock, but I came out of this journey wiser and stronger and with an awareness.

Time has passed, I have traveled to other countries. Morocco, Greece, as a tourist this time.
I never stopped, then one day the desire to relive a new mission, to realize again a dream, that of going to Africa.

Two years after my first mission, October 2017, I left for Benin. A 15-day medical mission in the villages, not far from Cotonou.
My main missions were to assist doctors with medical consultations, a prevention and hygiene activity with children, donations of clothes and toys.
The discovery of an orphanage will have marked me forever. When I arrived the children ran into my arms when they had never seen me, the emotion was there and so intense. They had nothing and yet they had such a radiant smile. I spent several unforgettable days with them playing, dancing and singing.
I gave them everything I could.
My dream had come true: unforgettable encounters, the discovery of a new culture and exchanges forever inscribed in me.

Convinced that my life was made to be with them, on my return to France, I resigned to return there in January 2018. I wanted to find them.

Life had decided otherwise, an opportunity in France came to me: that of opening my hairdressing salon.
My life in France was therefore not over.

However, I continued to travel around the world, Morocco, Greece, Reunion Island, Mauritius and 6 times in Egypt, a real crush.

It's been two and a half years that my hair salon has been working wonderfully, and thank God it allows me to go back where I want and when I want, but I continually miss Africa, I live between two worlds: overconsumption and poverty , stupidity and generosity, everything and nothing.

Today you are surely asking yourself: but why did she decide to set up her humanitarian association in order to help orphanages in Africa?
I will answer you simply because it is thanks to these trips and especially from the children that I learned the value of things, I learned that everything was not fair on this earth and that we must learn to give of his time and his generosity.
My life mission is through that, through them.

They have helped me so much to grow, that in turn I want to help them, at my level, to have a better future.

Every woman can assert herself,
choose your future, and change the world.

Our mission
